Quick Swirl: Lamole di Lamole Riserva 1999 (PB)

One year ago to the day, NW and his wife, myself and my wife were sitting in a hilltop restaurant in the heart of Tuscany in the town of LaMole. We ordered a wine called LaMole Di LaMole. While visiting NW in Jacksonville, I found the wine in a shop and laid it down for a few months. Last night, with homemade raviolis, spinach and ricotta pattys and great reminiscences of that evening, we opened this bottle.

Dried cherries abound in the nose and on the palate. There is a good balance of flavor and structure. With everything that surrounds this wine, how could I possibly not give it a good rating? And you see there is the curious nature of wine. It’s so much more than just the essential nuts and bolts of the wine itself. At $14, this wine brought back priceless memories and that is the best you can ask for. Raise a glass to it all!
