2008 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau wine review by Billy

Nose: candied cherry and lush red fruit
Palate:chewy tannins
Finish: candied fruit comes back

Overall: a nice and pleasant Beaujolais Nouveau this year. The best of the bunch I had tasted this year. Nice in the late afternoon before dinner as a cocktail. Unpresuming but enchanting.

I just knocked back a 2004 of this , and I think its one of the best 9$ reds I've tried so far. Its kinda of strange I'm thinking a Panera bread sierra turkey lunch or a bloody steak dinner or maybe spinach and feta pizza or this maybe a stretch but even Chilean black grapes and partagas black cigars while being pretentious on the patio are all applicable pairings .
The 2004 has a little tingle resembling carbonation but otherwise a very pleasant almost netual experience. I guess the price point enhances the excitement.
