Nose: Strong nose of grape and currant. Fruity.
Palate:Thin mouth feel, some tannic character with an acid snap emerging at the back of the tongue
Finish: Lingering vegetal finish at the back of the mouth.
Overall: Beaujolais Nouveau is the celebration of wine harvested this year. The gamay grapes were picked just a couple of weeks ago. Then they were pressed, vinified and put into bottles to ship to stores all around the world this year. This Beaujolais Nouveau was in a grape on a vine a mere 10 weeks ago. Beaujolais Nouveau 2011 is a celebration of wine. As such, the liquid in the bottle and in your glass is a great big HOORAY for wine. It is a fast wine. A fruity wine. It is not complex. It is not subtle. It is wine from grapes freshly picked this year. Enjoy this wine tonight and maybe tomorrow. I paid $10 for this celebratory 2011 wine at a local wine shop. Raise a Glass!

Joseph Drouhin 2010 Beaujolais Nouveau Wine Review by Billy
Nose:candied red cherry nose
Palate:sharp acids make for some tartness on the palate while keeping the fruity structure
Finish: tart and young and pleasing
Overall: I paid about $12 for this Beaujolais Nouveau at the local store. It should be widely available.
Celebrate new wine with this new wine. Let it breathe and the acid structure will soften.

Beaujolais Nouveau 2009 Bouchard Aine & Fils Wine Review by Billy
Nose: Creamy Cherry and blueberry
Palate:Soft tannins and acids make this quite accessible and easy going down. Not as much body as the others tasted.
Finish: blueberry.
Overall: A wonderfully fruity and easy drinking celebration wine. This wine sells for about 10-11 dollars but I got it for 6! Raise a Glass!

Labouré-Roi Beaujolais Nouveau 2009 Wine Review by Billy
Happy Beaujolais Nouveau Day! This third Thursday of November is Beaujolais Nouveau Day where Gamay grapes that were grown this year, made into wine this year, bottled this year then sold and ideally consumed TODAY! This is proof once again that wine is wonderful.
Nose: Tart Cherry Pixi Stix aroma
Palate: tart and fun. Crisply acidic with a tannin burst at the end. Tartness softens with a bit of breathing (10-15 minutes)
Finish: short and spiked with tart candied cherry.
Overall: Beaujolais Nouveau Day is a cause for celebration. Raise a Glass and do so with friends! For reference, I paid $11 for this wine.

Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Nouveau Primeur 2008 wine review by Billy
Nose: very fruity nose of cherry cola and macerated day old strawberries
Palate: light feel with strong acid structure and some tannins
Finish: short and a bit metallic
Hooray for Beaujolais Nouveau day! The Primeur 2008 Beaujolais Nouveau from Drouhin this year is a solid table wine that is easy to drink and easy going. It meets expectations without letting down. Shows good character. I paid $16 for the bottle.

Beaujolais Nouveau 2007 Georges Duboeuf Review by Billy
Finally I got my hands on a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau. You'd think that, as much of the stuff floods the world the third Tuesday of November, that I'd have had a much easier time of it. Unfortunately I was in California for the two weeks surrounding this day and, restaurants and bars there simply didn't have the stuff on hand (at least where I was). So I'm a bit late to the game this year. Either way, I'm glad to have a chance to finally get at this bottle of early wine.
Nose: Petroleum tar with juicy raspberry.
Palate: chewy, balanced, unprepossessing.
Finish: present, quickly tapering.
All in all, Beaujolais Day is a great reason to have a glass of wine. While this wine is unremarkable, it is also unpretentious. It is a good drink. It will go with stuff. Have a bottle just to have a bottle but don't look to be blown away.
Raise a glass of Beaujolais to Beaujolais!
