Aubergine hue that is gorgeous, with aromas as I pour it filling my senses with memories of Italy ventures years ago exploring the wonders of Tuscany, and other great, storied wine regions of this great wine country. big gob smacking bold lovely black berry fruit with with plum, spice and something elusive to description.
Palate--Tart first impression which mellows out quickly and leaving mouth filling berries and a super quick finish. Honestly the best part of this wine is in the bouquet and color. But at the price point of a Trader Joe's offering around $8 it is a decent enough table wine to enjoy with pizza, pastas, and cheeses of a slightly bolder stripe.
I have had this wine often over the years and ya can't beat the price so raise. a glass!
