Deep purple to black hue with light aromas of blackberry and plum.
Palate--Decent enough first impression of bold dark berry fruit, with vibrant mid-palate with a lack-lustrous unilateral presentation.
The wine is a tad too cold which may explain some of the lack of interesting complexities, or it may just be a wine in what is called the "dumb-phase."
This Washington State varietal is disappointing for a Syrah. One would expect an inky black hue with jammy dark berry and plum with a lingering fruity finish. Yes this is a very young wine but never-the-less it should be showing better than it is.
Syrah is the quintessential wine for wild game and tonight I will serving lamp chops grilled indoors. A trader Joe's offering fro about $9 it isn't bad just very simple.
