*Chateau Julien Merlot 2003 Wine Review (NW)

Medium-dark red color
Unique nose of black currants and an odd plastic aroma
Somewhat rich core of fruit on the palate
Dark fruit finish, moderately heavy tannins, and more of the plastic taste

I think this wine has a lot of potential because it's slightly dark, rich, and layered. However, I couldn't shake the odd plastic note. Without this, the wine would be really pleasant.

I appreciate the fact that it's somewhat unique in its overall approach. The core of fruit is nice and dense, giving the wine class. Although the price wasn't disclosed, I assume it sells for $10-12. Again, it has a lot of potential as a classy and modestly-priced Merlot. Raise a glass!
