Yalumba Viognier 2012 wine review by (PB)

Hue--medium golden with bouquet of hard to pin down sweet fruit, perhaps melon or cantaloupe, Lychee, hints of vanilla and touch of citrus.

Palate--Surprisingly dry as dust with rigid acidity that chokes out the fruit. I need to let this warm up and breathe!

This Aussie Viognier (pronounced Vee Oh NYAY) is not as floral as most I have had and is a bit over the top being very angular and not well integrated. This is the "Y" series which is their table wine at the $11 price point. For what is out there and what this wine can be I would pass on it.
