Rosenblum Zinfandel (Appellation Series) Paso Robles 2005

From the folks who make about 25 different Zinfandels comes yet another called the appellation series. It is medium cherry red in the glass with a brambly, black berry bouquet.

The palate is clean, though a bit "hot" on opening. It is somewhat shallow with a slight licorice note. It opens well though and improves all the way around revealing big berry flavors. It is pretty good but a bit pricey at the $16 price point. I'd feel better about this wine at a $12 price point. At any rate, it went well with my home made spaghetti! Raise a glass.
