Cline Zinfandel "California" 2007 wine review by (PB)

One of my perennial favorites, this value Zin runs around $8.50 a bottle and is a decent example of the grape even at this lower echelon production wine. It is opaqueish red with wild, brambly Zin aromas of rustic berries, a touch of ripe raspberry, and spice.

Palate--nice textured wine with solid red berry fruit with a touch of chocolate and wildness. It finishes with lingering berry flavors even if a little coarse. Raise a glass at this price and then compare it with a Zin of around $25 to grow your Zinfandel knowledge!

Thanks for the review. I used to be a fan of Cline, but overlook them now for some reason. Love their small berry Mourvedre. This Zin sounds good.Thanks.

Just opened a bottle!.. We really enjoyed it. Nice smooth flavour. Not expensive and really good.

Picked up a bottle from Trade Joes' as the worker there said it's one of the best sellers. Very drinkable for a $7.99 Zin. Lacks the refinement and aroma from more higher classed wines, but compares favorably to wines in the $15 to $20 range in the SF Bay Area wine market. I even pickuped a bottle of 2007 Cline Syrah on my last grocery run.
