Sideyard Gewurztraminer 2007 review by (PB)
Light gold with a bouquet that is a bit a typical for a Gewurztraminer with loads of lemon, pineapple and tropical fruit.
Palate--Zingy acid foundation with lemon in loads, off dry, fruit galore, and unique. Finishes with a long lingering cream.
This is from a California shipper (?) importing this wine from the Pfalz (Germany) and is a tasty if unusual Gewurz. But it was nice on our porch for the first wine of the season outdoors at 61 degrees. Yeah! That's Summer for us. My wife paid $10 for this and I would buy another. We will *pair it with dinner tonight with what we call "country scramble." (Grits, fried ham with milk gravy and scrambled eggs all over home made biscuits. Can't wait to raise a glass!) *Late addition--the pairing was marvelous!
