Forajidos Origenes 2023

On the pour the hue is so lightly cherry in color but it is a very pretty, crystalline presentation. Aromas of spiced apple rings, yeast, spicy sweet cherry/berry.

Palate--mouth watering acidity, with a gentle presence of fruit that is pretty straight forward, but there is a strangeness to this wine that is somewhat unpleasant to my palate.

This wine is *unoaked and made from a grape I have never heard of--"Pais" which could very well be the awkwardness to my palate. Pais is a jug wine grape and ought to remain as such.

*Oak gives complexity and new dimensions to what you get with the just fermented grape juice. This Maule Valley, Chile creation has a storied reputation for very nice wine but this is NOT one of them.

I paid $9 for this and I am not sure what happened here but this is a pass for me...
