Salice Salentino Riserva 2007 Cantele review by (PB)

Nice black cherry hue with some depth.
Bouquet--Some fresh cherry behind touches of cocoa.
Palate--rigorous structure with a wine that is still youthful. The rear is a bit of muddled red fruit that is both bright but engulfed by the intriguing foundation.

This wine for $10 is a blend of 85% Negroamaro and 15% Malvasia Nera reminds me of Nero D'Avola but bolder and rougher. It is different and intriguing enough to raise a glass!
