Bodegas Montecillo Crianza 2003 wine review by (PB)

I bought this as a Wine Spectator pick and they gave it 87 pts. I didn't care for it writing at the time I tasted a few weeks back: Dry cherry bouquet with vegetal, daffodil scent.

Palate also yields daffodils, a little bitter on the finish; less than exciting.

Hey--you don't always agree with the pros. I paid $10 for this so try it for yourself. Raise a glass.

ONE OF THE BETTER RED WINES IF YOU PREFER A BOLD WINE WITH A LONG FINISH. REMINISCENT OF AN EXPENSIVE ITALIAN WINE.

    WORTH A TRY!!

Watery and flat. The nicer aspects of this wine are reminiscent of typical Aglianico or Piedirosso wines one might find South of Naples.

very good for the price, berry with very good oak finish, this wine will sell out and not be around long because of price, if you like it, buy a case, here today gone tomorrow.

  4. 2003 Monteccillo is a beautiful one. We can appreciate it as for diner than as an evening glass.

Unfortunaltely not remining 2003 bottle, I found 2003 Monteccillo Reserva (blue label) but not so diffrent than the Rioja issue.

A very nice bottle for you or your friends. Appreciated by almost everyone.
