Brilliant cherry hue with aromas of bright red fruit, cherries and red cherry candies
Palate--Bright, mouth watering presentation with lip smacking tannins and a nice acidity. Nice fruit that needs to open up with air.
I am pairing this Spanish Grenache with BBQ'd chicken on the grill--real charcoal--and home grown green beans with homemade cheese bread. Decent pairing!
Grenache tends to be a very fruity red berry/cherry kind of grape with a lighter frame than a lot of other bolder reds. Acidic, making it a good food wine more than an aperitif (a wine you might drink all by itself prior to a meal) but their styles do varying significantly depending on the country and vintner making the wine. I paid $5 for this value wine marked down from $10 so raise a glass!
