Palate: soft and even with great structure and floral notes.
Finish: citrus and flowers and slate.
Overall: awesome. Chateau Montelena put California Chardonnay on the map when in 1976 they took 1st place in the Paris Tasting, beating out the well known French Chardonnays. The quality of Montelena's craft remains to this day with a delightfully crisp chardonnay. This amazing California Chardonnay runs about $50.
