Karl Erbes Urziger Wurzgarten Riesling Spatlese 2011 Wine Review (NW)

Tasting notes:

Beautiful pear and passionfruit notes on the nose

Medium bodied and silky on the palate

Sweet fruit and honey on the finish with lively acidity underneath

Summary:

Showing amazing balance between sweet fruit and lively acidity, this wine is delicious and versatile. At only 7.5% alcohol, it dances in the glass and across the palate.  Good Riesling really is unique in its ability to show these characteristics so remarkably intertwined. Don't snub the German aisle in your wine store or you'll be missing out.  Many recent vintages of German Riesling have been excellent, and prices are reasonable.  This wine costs about $15. Raise a glass!
