Novelty Hill Columbia Valley Syrah 2006 Wine Review (NW)

Tasting notes:

Currants and plum aromas on the nose

Full bodied on the palate

Firm finish with dark fruit, loam, and pepper notes

Summary:

Novelty Hill has put together a classic Washington state Syrah here with dark fruit and pepper character. This is the kind of wine I enjoy with dinner as well as on its own after dinner. I paid $23 for the bottle at Whole Foods. Raise a glass!

I am always happy to see Washington reds com up on wine blog sites, since it's not only my home, but favorite New World wine drinking region. Do you have any other suggestions as to Syrahs I might find from Washington that deliver? I'm wary to seek out a Syrah without recommendation.
Thanks!

Kelsey, I like the single vineyard creations of Charley Smith at K Vintners. You'll pay for them but they are big, bold and well made. Raise a glass!
