Badia Coltibuono RS Chianti Classico 2011 Wine Review (NW)

Tasting notes:

Elegant beam of sweet cherry and red berry with fragrant herbs on the nose

Medium bodied on the palate

Silky texture on the finish, good length, with cherry, soft woody notes, and spice

This is a nice wine. What really drives it is the perfumed nose of cherry and berry notes that are elegant and distinctive of well made Sangiovese. It's an excellent value at $15 for an expressive Chianti Classico that drinks well now but can probably also cellar for a few years. Make some home made Bolognese and raise a glass!
