Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2004 Wine Review (NW)

Tasting notes:

Beautiful black cherry, earth, and sweet spice on the nose

Full bodied on the palate

Long finish with cherry, savory herbs, and sweet tobacco

Summary:

This Brunello is very good, nicely layered, and youthful. With sweet and savory dancing across the palate, it has all the complexity and character I expect from a Brunello which is the hightest expression of the Sangiovese grape in Italy. The retail price runs around $65 or so. Raise a glass!
