La Puerta Torrontes 2005 Wine Review (NW)

Aromatic nose of pineapple and melon
Smooth, dry palate, with good acidity
Surprisingly dry finish, tapers nicely

The wonderful, aromatic nose leads me to think this wine would be more full-bodied, but the finish is surprisingly dry. I still enjoyed it, thinking that it's a nice alternative white. It's a Spanish varietal that I don't see all that often. Because of that, it gets points for uniqueness. The price is right, too, at $10. Raise a glass!

The Torrontes grape was taken to Argentina from Spain in 1560. It's now an emblematic white from this country and specially from the province of La Rioja.

The LA PUERTA Torrontes is a great wine with intense aromas of flowers and a dry finish.
